Control of Work (CoW) Policy 

If work is not adequately planned, controlled and monitored accidents will happen, quality will be compromised and schedules will not be met.

AMINA AND S GROUP LLC Major Projects leadership is committed to working continuously towards targets of no accidents, no harm to people, no damage to the environment, zero quality non-conformances and to meeting schedule through effective, clear, well defined processes that control of work that we do.

  1. Amina and S Group LLC and its contractors shall have a controlled written procedure that describes how work will be controlled and monitored at each of delivery units. This procedure must address how subcontractors are managed.
  2. The roles and responsibilities for the key people involved in delivering and monitoring the Control of Work procedure must be defined and their accountabilities stated and approved by the Project Director. This applies to site management, and to both contractor and AMINA AND S GROUP LLC personnel.
  3. A training program will be in place to ensure that all personnel are trained and competent to deliver their accountabilities.
  4. All work must be planned and scheduled to achieve the stated goals.
  5. All tasks and activities must be assessed to identify the risks to Health, Safety and the Environment and to Quality & Schedule. Without this risk assessment work will be permitted to proceed.
  6. All delivery units must operate a permit to work process for activities taht involve, as a minimum, Confined Space Entry, Energised System, Ground Disturbance, and Hot Work.
  7. Deviations to the PTW system can be approved for construction work only. These deviations must be approved by the Project General Manager or their delegate and only after a comprehensive risk  assenssment has been completed. Once approved these deviations must be comunicated via a site specific Local Rules Policy.
  8. The hazards and controls associated with each task/activity must be communicated to all personnel involved. A Risk Assess It, Talk It, Check It (RTC) must be completed for each activity and signed by all personnel involved in the task before work is allowed to proceed. If the scope of work or the work environment changes a new RTC must be conducted.
  9. Site supervision shall regulary monitor the work as it is being conducted to ensure that it is being executed safely, within quality specification and as planned. These inspections must be logged on the task RTC form.
  10. Upon completion of a shift, or upon completion of the task, site supervision must ensure that the work site is left in a safe condition.
  11. The process of PTW will be audited as per an agreed schedule by both the contractor and Amina And S Group LLC.
  12. A process must be in place to ensure that lessons that are learned, both good and bad, are shared so that we can learn from them.
  13. Every person has the obligation to stop unsafe work and to take time out for safety. We support those people who make the effort to ensure a safe work environment.
